Design, install and commission of the infrastructure surrounding four 5.5MW Rolls Royce Engines.

CambridgeHOK have been engaged by P3P Partners to design, install and commission the infrastructure surrounding four 5.5MW Rolls Royce engines. This includes geo-technical surveys to establish ground conditions, the design and build of reinforced concrete bases, including floating engine bases.

CambridgeHOK are installing all of the interconnecting pipework between the backup boiler plant and the Rolls Royce engines for high and low temperature heat requirements and CO2 from the flue. We are responsible for installing a 5,000,000 litres hot water, insulated storage tank to take the heat from the CHP engines during the day, to be utilised in the greenhouses overnight.

The Energy Centre buildings are being built to house all of the plant which is being designed, fabricated and erected by CambridgeHOK using composite panels. CambridgeHOK are utilising their own structural engineering team and Tekla designers to complete this element of the works.

In addition, we are designing the electrical and control systems for the whole facility from 33kVa at grid to LV and ELV circuits, utilising a Priva BMS to manage the engines. The engines will be controlled by P3P from their offices in central London using a remote Priva interface designed and programmed by CambridgeHOK.

The gas to feed the engines will also be connected to the gas network by CambridgeHOK with inline gas boosters to ensure the requisite pressure was achieved at all times.
