CambridgeHOK chosen again to help growing Towcester garden centre continue to expand with new retail building

An expanding garden centre business in Northamptonshire has tuned to the expertise of CambridgeHOK for a fourth time as it builds again to add more retail services for customers.

The family run Bell Plantation Garden Centre, in Towcester, includes a cafe, food hall and poultry centre and is the home to many other smaller retail and leisure businesses.

It attracts more than 250,000 visitors a year and has regularly partnered with CambridgeHOK to continually add to its facilities in recent years, including the additions of retail buildings, canopies and glasshouses.

The developments have helped the business continue to grow, expanding its retail and leisure offering with businesses including a gym, a vet's surgery, a nursery, beauticians, a brewery and wedding specialists all housed on the same site as the garden centre.

The latest addition to the site, which will be connected to the existing cafe building, will see a T-shaped 1028sq metre retail building added, with the CambridgeHOK team completing all structural calculations, design and manufacture.

The new portal frame building, which will be painted black on the exterior and white internally, will include a composite cladded roof with rooflights throughout, ensuring it is flooded with natural light.

It is currently under construction on site by CambridgeHOK, and director Steve Hinch says the business is delighted to have been chosen by Bell once again.
