New Venlo glasshouse completed ready for Spring Season at Hawgrips Plant Centre

A newly built Venlo glasshouse is quickly filling with plants and shrubs at the popular Hawgrips Plant Centre ahead of the busy Spring period, just weeks after CambridgeHOK completed work on site.

The Palmers Garden Centre Group turned to our team when looking to add 1,000sq metres of extra growing space at its site in Enderby, Leicestershire.

Starting the design in September 2021, our teams completed the glasshouse build in just five months, including the installation of a heating system, automated temperature-controlled ventilation and shade screening.

Elliot Wrightson, project manager for CambridgeHOK, said: “With us working with a client who has come to us in the past, we needed to ensure our end product was finished to the highest quality. However, all agreed at handover that this was most definitely the case, with it being a fantastic project for all involved.

“The Palmers Group is a popular chain of garden centres which produces an extensive range of plants and flowers; with them coming to us wanting a high-quality glasshouse facility in which the climate could be easily controlled and maintained to ensure the best growing environment.

"On projects like this it is essential that all aspects are managed effectively to ensure handover is successfully achieved to enable the client to take full advantage of the busy Spring season.

"As can be seen in the completion photos, the glasshouse is already being fully utilised as an integral part of the garden centre operations with it being filled with bedding plants of all varieties."
