Originally opened in 1988, this lovely family-run garden centre started life stocking a wide range of plants and garden accessories.

Now they offer their customers so much more – thanks to our Garden Centre extension experts.

As well as a comprehensive collection of plants, shrubs and trees; HortiCentre also provides a bistro-style eating experience.

Since diversifying and turning their operation from a plant sales business into an 'experience' destination, around 70% of their overall income now comes from repeat custom.

Scope of our work

Located mid-way between Wakefield and Huddersfield, near to the National Coal Mining Museum, the owners like to think of themselves as 'Every garden's friend’ and wanted a complex to match their aspirations.

Initially, we were commissioned to design and build a glazed canopy to cover an outside area and provide visitors with a warm welcome.

After working together successfully, we were tasked with the planning and constructing their extremely-successful ‘Seed Room’ coffee shop and bistro facility, which is attached to the main building.

We have since designed and built a bespoke lean-to glasshouse extension measuring 3.25m in width by 2m in length.

On each of these projects, we acted as the turnkey solutions provider – offering our expertise in the design, planning, project management and construction stages.
