Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Purpose of the role:

A key division of the Cambridge HOK Group, our construction team lead on projects worth up to £20m, for internal and external clients in the UK and Europe. As a result of internal promotion, we now have an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team.

Working alongside our team of Estimators, our Construction Manager, and one experienced colleague, the Assistant QS will keep a close eye on project finances and contractual relationships and help to make sure that the financial position of construction projects is accurately reported and controlled effectively.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, timely and accurate information, advice, and reports.
• Support other members of the team in the day-to-day management and delivery of projects including attendance at meetings.
• Working across several different projects at any time and visit sites as required.
• Preparation of enquiries to the supply chain, analysing quotations, placing orders and approval of applications and invoices.
• Management and pricing of contract variations.
• Preparation of interim valuations and settlement of final accounts.
• Preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Follow the company’s Health and Safety Policy and Quality Assurance procedures.
• Maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality.
• Have a positive attitude, self-motivated and proactive with good communication and organisational skills.
• Always act in the best interests of the company.

Further Training Opportunities:

Support for further training and development including nationally recognised qualifications in Quantity Surveying (level 4) and/or support with a Degree in Quantity Surveying. We are keen to identify and retain individuals with ambition and commitment as part of our ongoing growth and succession planning.
