Structural Engineer

Purpose of the role:

Based three days per week at the firm’s purpose-built offices and manufacturing facility in East Yorkshire, you will work with UK and international clients on full turnkey projects from conception to completion.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, the Structural Engineer will be integral to the design team and be responsible for the structural design of all CambridgeHOK’s engineering projects with applications including glasshouses, portal frame buildings and indoor vertical farms, as well as minor steel fabrications.

You will work closely with the sales and estimating teams to provide concept designs, estimates, and budgets to a wide-ranging variety of projects. Having secured opportunities, you will produce structural designs and calculations to enable the design team to produce detailed fabrication and erection drawings.

Skills and Abilities

We are keen to hear from candidates with the following skills & experience:

• Degree qualified in Structural Engineering (ideally chartered or working towards)
• Registered with a relevant professional body
• Experience in structural design in steel and ideally aluminium
• Familiar with Tekla Structural Designer design software
• Experience with glasshouse design software (CASTA) is not essential but would be an advantage
• Experience of foundation design would be advantageous
• Strong communication skills, track record of collaboration
